Month-by-month, the world-wide destinations spotlighted below will provide the best opportunity for great golfing weather.

January - Golf in Southern Mexico
In southern Mexico, a typical January day will see high temperatures around 90°F/32°C and low temperatures near 70°F/21°C. Humidity of around 50 percent is a bit high for golfers from the western United States or other dry areas, but those from Britain or the Eastern U.S. may feel right at home. Rain is rare outside the rainy season, which runs typically from June through October. The hurricane season takes place roughly during the same months, sometimes extending into November.

A great January Mexican golf holiday destination is the Hotel Emporio Ixtapa. The hotel is located in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, in the state of Guererro along the Mexican Riviera. It is also relatively close to Acapulco and other popular vacation destinations. The modern luxury hotel is set on several acres of beautiful, lush gardens. The hotel’s 197 guest rooms are decorated in contemporary Mexican style and contain every convenience the golf traveler could envision. Four-star dining and lots of amenities cap off this fabulous, luxury property.

As wonderful as the hotel is, the golf is equally as satisfying. Two courses are within five minutes of the hotel: The Campo de Golf Palma Real and Club de Marina Ixtapa.

The Campo de Golf Palma Real, opened in 1975 and designed by the renowned course architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr., is a par-72, 6,898 yard course. The 18-hole, player-friendly course was constructed on the site of a former coconut plantation and, in addition to great golf, it is full of tropical wildlife and vegetation; in fact, it is considered a wildlife preserve by Mexican and international ecologists. A better January destination would be difficult to find.


February - Golf in Arizona
Arizona, in the southwestern United States is virtually perfect for golfing and vacationing during February. A favorite Arizona golf destination is Scottsdale. According to most publications and professionals, the Scottsdale area, with 175 golf courses, is as good for golfing as anywhere in the world.

Average temperatures for the Scottsdale area range from daily highs of around 70°F/21°C to lows of around 40°F/4°C. Rain free golf can also be expected, with the area seeing less than an inch during February.



March - Golf in the Caribbean
The Caribbean was made for golf in March. Average daytime temperatures in the region are typically near a perfect 75°F/24°C. Caribbean rainfall ranges from nearly no rain in Curacau, off the coast of Venezuela, to just over four inches in Bermuda, which is situated in the Northeastern section of the region. When planning a vacation, be ever mindful of the Caribbean hurricane season that runs from June through November.
